Rapidly growing cities around the world are struggling to manage sewage and other wastes – but what if those wastes could be turned into electricity? Waste-to-energy systems make this possible, and can have huge benefits. WRI studied these systems in Xiangyang, China, and is beginning to study their potential in Indian cities as well.
