WRI to share findings of a new report at Rally 2016, the 29th annual gathering of land conservation practitioners dedicated to conserving cherished places in local communities.

Serving as the premier training and networking conference, The Land Trust Alliance will host Rally 2016: The National Land Conservation Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Now in its 29th year, Rally is the largest land conservation conference in the country attended by nearly 2,000 inspired and passionate land conservation practitioners including land trust staff, volunteers, seasoned professionals, agencies, and others from all 50 states, Canada, South America and beyond.

WRI will be sharing the findings from the new report Protecting Drinking Water at the Source: Lessons from Watershed Investment Programs in the United States.

  1. review new research by funders and practitioners on what makes watershed protection programs successful, which will help your land trust be more effective in the long-term. New conservation finance options for watershed protection will be summarized, emphasizing case studies that focus on real-life successes by land trusts
  2. provide the opportunity for facilitated discussion with panelists and grant program managers to help them better understand land trust needs related to watershed protection and financing.
