WASHINGTON (October 28, 2016) — The next major UN conference, COP22, being held in Marrakech, Morocco (November 7-18), marks the first COP since the Paris Agreement. The conference will begin just three days after the Paris Agreement goes into full effect.

On Wednesday, November 2, at 10:00 a.m. EDT, experts from the World Resources Institute will explore opportunities presented by COP22 to build on the momentum behind the Paris Agreement and deliver greater action on the ground. Speakers include: Paula Caballero, David Waskow, Joe Thwaites and Craig Hanson.

Speakers will discuss what outcomes to watch for, including how countries can raise the ambition of their national climate action plans. Experts will also discuss issues around agriculture and finance, and the broader context in which countries are meeting, including the importance of climate action for countries in Africa.
