Lara Caccia is an Urban Development Specialist at WRI Brasil Cities Program. She works in technical support to Brazilian municipalities for the elaboration and qualification of public policies and sectorial plans related to the urban environment and the reduction of socio-spatial and environmental vulnerabilities. She was a researcher and author of knowledge products on urban mobility, active mobility, social housing, building efficiency and air quality. Lara is currently responsible for engaging and monitoring technical support for the ten Brazilian cities on Cities4Forests.

Prior to joining the team, Lara worked at Metroplan, which is the State Transportation Department at Rio Grande do Sul. Her work with projects for the implementation of the Subway Transportation and bus rapid transit (BRT) systems in the city of Porto Alegre.

Lara holds a master’s degree in Geography from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), with an emphasis on urban geography and territorial analysis. She has a bachelor's degree in Geography, also from UFRGS, where she developed research on urban space production, social segregation, and socio-spatial impact analysis.
