Sevdalina Rukanova is Head of Foundation Relations in the WRI Europe office in The Hague. She works to deepen and expand WRI's partnerships with European foundations and to increase WRI's visibility and engagement with the foundation community in Europe.

Prior to joining WRI, Sevdalina worked for 20 years at European Foundation Centre (EFC), managing international philanthropy programs and developing thematic funder networks and communities of practice for foundation professionals. She also supported EFC leadership fora on global issues and members' engagement with multilateral organisations around the SDGs. Sevdalina served on the board of Foundation for Poland and on the advisory bodies of Alliance Magazine and the Hudson Institute’s Center for Global Prosperity project on global philanthropy and philanthropic freedoms. She is a Marshall Memorial Fellow and a volunteer with the Brussels Binder, which aims to strengthen women's voices in European policy debates.

She graduated from Vrije Universiteit Brussel with a degree in Communications Sciences. Sevdalina lives in The Hague.

She enjoys open sea sailing and contemporary dance.
